Rue is discouraged by the fact that the real estate lawyer that Nyota found has declined to take her case, so she decides to go to the ice rink to shake off her bad mood. She sees Eli there, skating alone. When he tries to get her to skate with him, she resists the idea, not wanting to create an intimate moment. She tells him that he left a set of keys in her car, but he says the keys are not his. He tells her that he will leave so that she can skate by herself, and she asks him about the nature of Hark and Minami’s relationship. Eli explains that Hark and Minami dated for a couple of years, and Hark is still not over her, even though she is now married to Sul. Eli also admits to being bothered by the fact that his sister, Maya, has a crush on Hark.
Eli and Rue walk to the parking lot together, and Rue tells him that she doesn’t have many friends besides Tisha and Florence because she is so serious and socially awkward. Eli reassures her that she just refuses to pretend to be anything other than herself.
